Punjab government clarifies salary increase, revised pay scales
LAHORE: The Punjab government has issued an important clarification regarding the increase in salaries of government employees and the revised pay scale.
Reports say that, according to the government clarification, 7 percent ad hoc relief will be provided to government employees of the province under the revised pay scales from July 2026.
Under this decision, the salaries of employees will be compiled on the basis of the new pay scale, and a 7 percent increase in salaries will be applied on this basis.
Reports said that according to the Punjab government, after the implementation of the revised pay scale, the basic salaries of government employees will be re-determined, after which an ad hoc relief allowance will be added.
Officials say that this move aims to provide relief to government employees from the current pressure of inflation.
In this regard, the government clarification has said that the increase in salaries will be implemented from July 2026, while the relevant departments have been instructed to complete the necessary action in this regard.
The salaries of the employees will be prepared according to the new pay scale so that they can get relief on time.
On the other hand, the employees say that the increase in salaries is a positive step in the current economic situation, but given the inflation rate, more relief is needed.
