LAHORE: Price of ghee and cooking oil have increased once again, with a major brand announcing an increase of six rupee per kilogram overnight in Pakistan, here on Thursday.

According to the details, the price hike affects the second-tier brands of ghee and cooking oil. This change comes despite a recent meeting of the Price and Control Committee, where it was agreed that prices would remain stable for three days. Despite assurances from the association, the price increase has raised concerns among consumers.

Experts warn that if international prices continue to rise, this could trigger further increases not just in second-tier brands, but also in first and third-tier products.

In response to the situation, the Price and Control Committee has called another meeting with association officials to address the ongoing price volatility.
