ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s star fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi has been granted a No Objection Certificate (NOC) by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to participate in the 2026 Lanka Premier League (LPL), where he will represent Kandy Royals. This will be Afridi’s maiden appearance in Sri Lanka’s premier T20 franchise tournament.
According to reports, the left-arm pacer is set to leave for Sri Lanka after receiving clearance from the PCB. Shaheen had been attending Pakistan’s white-ball training camp in Lahore before being allowed to join his franchise ahead of the tournament.
The PCB issues NOCs to players for overseas leagues after considering the national team’s commitments. The move will allow Afridi to gain valuable match practice and continue competing in top-level franchise cricket during the LPL season.
Kandy Royals have secured one of Pakistan’s premier fast bowlers as they aim for a strong campaign in the tournament. Cricket fans will be eager to see Shaheen lead the Royals’ pace attack and make an immediate impact in his first Lanka Premier League appearance.
