PESHAWAR: Peshawar’s Provincial Education Minister, Faisal Khan Tarakai, has taken swift and decisive action in response to a disturbing incident of vandalism at the District Education Officer’s (DEO) office.
The shocking act, allegedly perpetrated by Tehsil Mathra Chairman, involved intimidation and destruction of government property, prompting Minister Tarakai to demand a comprehensive report from the Education Secretary.
Condemning the incident in the strongest possible terms, Minister Tarakai emphasized that such behavior towards government officials will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Moreover, he stressed that ensuring the safety and security of officers is a top priority for the government.
Minister Tarakai urged elected representatives to address their grievances through established channels, rather than resorting to violence and intimidation.
In addition, he offered his support, encouraging them to reach out to him or other relevant authorities to resolve issues peacefully.
The incident was sparked by a heated dispute between a close aide of the Chief Minister and an education officer over teacher transfers, which escalated into a threatening confrontation between the Tehsil Mathra Chairman and the District Education Officer.
However, due to the prompt intervention of the provincial government, a mutually acceptable agreement has been reached, and the parties have agreed to resolve the matter of conflict.
