LAHORE: In a move to alleviate the financial burden on electricity consumers, Senior Punjab Minister Maryam Aurangzeb has unveiled a comprehensive relief package, effective immediately.
This initiative aims to reduce electricity bills for approximately 3.5 million consumers across Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, and Islamabad.
Moreover, Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz has received praise for her leadership in delivering relief to the public during challenging economic times.
She reaffirmed her commitment to easing the financial burden on citizens and fulfilling the promises made by the PML-N leadership.
The relief package is part of a broader strategy to reduce electricity costs, with future initiatives focused on promoting solar energy solutions.
Earlier, Maryam Nawaz Sharif announced that the government will also provide solar systems to consumers using between 200 and 500 units of electricity per month.
The government will cover 90 percent of the cost of the solar panels while the remaining 10 percent will be paid by consumers using up to 500. The solar panels will be provided to consumers in interest-free easy installments over five years.
