ISLAMABAD: Candidates have accelerated the preparations for the MDCAT 2025 (Medical and Dental College Admission Test) in the wake of media reports about its anticipated timeline.
MDCAT is a standardized admission test in Pakistan for students applying to medical and dental colleges. Administered by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC), the exam tests students in subjects such as Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and English.
MDCAT is a compulsory requirement for all public and private medical institutions throughout the country. It is extremely competitive, with thousands of students appearing annually.
The test is crucial to sustaining merit-based admissions and quality in medical education. It requires proper preparation and knowledge of the syllabus to pass the MDCAT.
News reports indicate that the MDCAT entry test will take place in September 2025. It is believed that the pivotal test would occur at any date between September 21-30.
Previously this month, PMDC has released new regulations and rules for the MDCAT examination. At least 65 percent of marks in FSC is required for admission to medical as well as dental colleges. Only those candidates with the province’s domicile will be eligible to sit for the MDCAT.
A resident of one province won’t be able to appear in the MDCAT exam in another province. There will only be the Saudi capital, Riyadh, as the center for the MDCAT exam abroad.
The officials announced that the MDCAT exam will be conducted under new regulations and rules this year.
