ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Junaid Anwar Chaudhry announced on Sunday that the federal government is establishing a Maritime Education Endowment Fund aimed at supporting deserving students in Pakistan’s coastal areas.

According to a private news channel, the fund will offer scholarships to students from underprivileged coastal communities, helping them access quality education and better opportunities.

“The aim is to provide access to quality education to students living in coastal areas,” the minister said. He added that the initiative will initially focus on the country’s coastline but will eventually be expanded across the country.

A special committee will be formed to oversee the selection and distribution process of the scholarships to ensure transparency. The minister stressed that the process will be free from any form of discrimination.
