Karachi University implements new dress code for students

KARACHI: Karachi University has implemented new dress code guidelines as students are no longer allowed to attend classes in immodest or revealing attire.

The public university in the country’s largest city has called for a respectful and modest atmosphere on campus. A recent notification instructs students to wear clean, modest clothing appropriate for the academic environment. Those wearing revealing clothing, shorts, sleeveless or tight clothing, or shirts with inappropriate language or graphics will face action.

The recent measures are part of KU’s efforts to maintain discipline among its large student body. The university, which has more than 45,000 students, stressed that the code of conduct aims to inform all students of expectations and ensure cooperation in a respectful academic environment.
