LAHORE: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore has significantly increased the admission fees for private candidates for matriculation annual exams in 2025, drawing strong opposition from parents.
For class 9, the admission fee has been increased by 36 per cent, which means candidates will now submit Rs 1610 instead of Rs 2200 for the admission.
Similarly, candidates appearing for Grade 10 exams will have to pay Rs 2310 in comparison to the previous Rs 3480.
Additionally, the board also released the fee schedule for the 2025 exams which includes a Rs 1000 certificate fee, Rs 870 processing fee, and a new development fund of Rs 350. As a result, each student will now pay a total of Rs 4,380 to appear for the matriculation exam, up from the previous fee of Rs 2,700.
Admission form fees have also been raised from Rs. 700 to Rs. 900.
All Pakistan Private Schools and Colleges Association (APPS&CA) president Irfan Muzaffar Kayani criticised the hike in fees, calling it a burden on low-income families, and called for a 40-50 per cent reduction.
