PESHAWAR: In a recent development, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced its plan to solarize 195 health centers in four districts of the province.
The KP Human Capital Investment Program (KP-HCIP) of the provincial health department will be responsible for the successful execution of the solarization program.
According to the KP health department, the project will be carried out in Peshawar, Nowshera, Swabi, and Haripur.
According to sources, the project will be financed through grant funding and loan financing. The total budget allocation for this project is expected to be a little over Rs 23 billion.
This initiative aims to solarize 151 basic health units (BHUs), 25 rural health centers, 13 Category D hospitals, and six Category C hospitals.
Project Director Dr. Ikram Ullah shared the idea and discussed it with Advisor to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Health Ihtisham Ali during a briefing.
Additionally, the advisors issued directives on how this program can be carried out with effective efficiencies.
During the briefing, Dr. Ikram Ullah also revealed that the program will later be expanded to 16 districts while prioritizing the flood-affected healthcare facilities.
