LAHORE: Punjab’s educational boards have launched a new system that allows parents to directly check students’ exam results, marking a major step toward transparency in the education sector.

Starting from the 2026 academic year, parents will be able to access their children’s matric results using their own CNIC numbers. This new system means students will no longer be able to hide their exam performance from their families.

In the first phase, the initiative will apply to ninth and tenth-grade results, while intermediate-level results will be added later.

The move is expected to have a wide-reaching impact, as the Lahore Board alone conducts matric and intermediate exams for over a million students each year.

Officials stated that the system to check students’ exam results aims to strengthen parental involvement in education and provide a clearer picture of student performance.

By giving families real-time access to exam outcomes, authorities hope to encourage better academic support both at home and in schools.

The decision follows the recent announcement of matric results across Punjab, which revealed a lower passing percentage than expected. Education experts believe the new feature will motivate students to perform better and improve accountability within schools.
