Punjab govt announces Summer Vacation dates for schools and colleges

LAHORE: Amidst the scorching heatwave in the province, Punjab’s education minister has announced the schedule for summer vacations in schools and colleges.

According to the details, the summer vacations in educational institutions will run more than two months, following a similar pattern to the previous year.

Mostly, summer vacations across the province start from June till August when the temperature in the region soared to 40 degrees Celsius or above. According to forecasts, temperatures may soar to 39°C in May 2024 and exceed 40°C in June 2024.

The summer vacation will start on June 7, 2024, and end on August 19, 2024, according to the minister of education. In the coming weeks, a communication in this regard is anticipated from the Education Department.

Earlier, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) warned that the maximum temperature is expected to reach 49.5 degrees Celsius in June. Moreover, August could see temperatures peaking at 48.63 degrees Celsius.
