Punjab govt changes school timings for summer season?

LAHORE: A notification circulating shows that the Punjab government has issued revised summer school timings in the wake of scorching heat across the province.

The Literacy and Non-Formal Basic Education Department issued the cited notification circulating on social media.

The notification reads, “Consequent upon the approval of the Competent Authority, the following school timing is hereby notified for all Non-Formal Schools in Punjab with immediate effect and till 15.10.2024.”

From Monday to Saturday, school will run from 07:30 am to 11:30 am without any break, the notification said.

As per the notification, the school timing may be adjusted at the district level to accommodate the target population on a specific case basis. The school timing shall be updated on the Non-Formal Education Management Information System (NFEMIS) portal by districts, it added.

Tweets emerged on X claimed the authenticity of the notification. However, the Punjab School Education has not yet clarified the circulating notification regarding revised summer school timings in Punjab.
