Punjab introduces new working hours for school teachers

LAHORE: The Punjab School Education Department has issued revised winter working hours for teachers which will be effective from tomorrow, Monday, October 27, 2025 to April 15, 2026.

According to the official notification, teachers in single-shift schools will work from 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM from Monday to Thursday, while the working hours on Friday will be reduced from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM.

In double-shift schools, morning shift teachers will follow the same schedule — 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM (Monday to Thursday) and 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM on Friday.

For afternoon or evening shifts, teachers will report from 12:45 PM to 4:00 PM between Monday and Thursday, while on Friday, their timings will be from 1:45 PM to 4:00 PM.

Additionally, teachers will be required to be at school on alternate Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for administrative, training, or educational planning activities.
