LAHORE: Summer camp schedule has been issued to complete the curriculum during the summer vacations. The camps will continue from 7:30 am to 9:30 am daily.

According to the details, the Punjab Education Department has issued a regular schedule for organizing summer camps across the province so that the educational process can continue during the summer vacations and the students can complete their curriculum.

The Education Department said that the summer camps will continue from 7:30 am to 9:30 am daily. In view of the intense heat and heat wave, the working hours have been set in the morning keeping in mind the health and safety of the students.

Provincial Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat said that the summer camps will start from the beginning of the summer vacations and will continue for a limited time for a month.

He said that the aim of this initiative is to ensure timely completion of the curriculum according to the academic calendar while taking full care of the health of the students.

According to the education department, the duration and working hours of summer camps will be strictly limited due to the heat wave situation.

On the other hand, representative organizations of private schools have also demanded that the government reduce the duration of summer vacations.

Representatives of private schools are of the opinion that long vacations are affecting academic performance, so the vacations should be limited from June 15 to August 1 and summer learning programs should be allowed for students.

It should be noted that the Punjab government had announced a three-month summer vacation from May 22 to August 23 across the province due to the severe heat wave, while schools will reopen from August 24.
