LAHORE: The University of Punjab has issued new dress codes, banning the wearing of shorts and other inappropriate clothing inside the campus.

The Punjab University administration, reacting to the complaints regarding the inappropriate dress, has ordered the security staff to strictly enforce the new rules in the university.

Visitors must now comply with the attire regulations.

To stop a trend that had become common among students, shorts, including knickers and bermudas, are now prohibited in classrooms, departments, grounds, and residential areas.

Dr. Muhammad Ali, vice chancellor of PU, stressed that this crackdown is a part of the university’s commitment to discipline and warned that anyone who does not obey the dress code will not be allowed anywhere on campus.

The institution has launched one of its most stringent dress code enforcement efforts in recent years, and both students and visitors are already adapting to this severe new reality on campus.
