LARKANA: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Larkana has postponed the already scheduled exams of intermediate on 29th April to 5t May 2025, according to media reports.

The delay in the exam is due to the closure of the road amid protest against controversial canal project, media reported.

According to the new schedule, the exams will now start from 5th May in the Larkana region of the province.

The postponement of examinations will also affect the university admission for the next season, as the result is also expected to be out after the scheduled dates.

Meanwhile, The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK)  has also announced  new examination dates. The exam is set  to start from May 6 or later.

The second phase of the exams may also begin late, which includes the art and commerce students. The Board officials cited many reasons behind the delay of the exams.

The major reasons were the unavailability of exam centres, changes in the previous first-year results due to grace marks, and the absence of a chairman at the board, resulting in lack of exam preparations.

However, the matriculation exams are running smoothly till May 2 in Karachi. Most of the exam centers are currently in use for matric students which were also designated for intermediate exams. This overlapping of the centers leads a delay in intermediate exams.
