Sindh reduces 25% syllabus for upcoming matric & inter annual exams

KARACHI: The Sindh Education Department has decided to reduce the syllabus for the upcoming annual examinations of classes 1 to 12, giving a big relief to the students.

The department took this decision in a meeting, in which it was said that the examinations to be held in March-April 2025 will be based on only 75 percent of the syllabus.

The meeting was attended by the Secretary College Education, Secretary Universities and Boards, Director General Inspection and Registration of Private Institutions, Chairman Karachi Matriculation Board, Chairman Karachi Intermediate Board, Chairman Mirpurkhas Intermediate Board and others.

The concerned authorities have been tasked to send the revised syllabus to the School Education Department by December 15.

Furthermore, it was decided that the academic session of schools in Sindh 2025-26 will start from April 1, while the academic session of colleges in Sindh will start from August 1.

The meeting also decided that the exams for grades 4 to 8 will be held from March 1 to 15, the matriculation exams will start from March 15 and the intermediate exams from April 15.

The matriculation results will be announced on July 15 and the intermediate results by August 15.

The summer vacations in the province will be from June 1 to July 31 and the winter vacations from December 22 to 31.
