Three consecutive holidays for all educational institutions announced

JAMSHORO: All schools and other educational institutions in Jamshoro district will be closed for three days from February 17 till February 19, 2025.

The closure comes as the local holiday announced by the authorities to observe the annual Urs of Saint Lal Shahbaz Qalandar.

The annual Urs of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar is one of the leading religious events that draw thousands of devotees from across the country.

Celebrations commencing on Monday will continue for three days and include an array of cultural and spiritual activities.

Some of the main parts of the agenda will be a literary conference, traditional Sindhi wrestling (Malakhro), and a lively Dhamal dance.

To facilitate the devotees during the celebrations, the provincial authorities will.put camps at the shrine, providing access and assistance.

The Urs of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar takes place annually between Shaban 18 and 20 in Sehwan Sharif. The Urs is one of the most important religious events in Pakistan, and each year, it sees a huge influx of devotees from Sindh, Punjab, and other surrounding states.

To maintain peace and order during the events, severe security arrangements will be made to avoid any untoward incidents.

The authorities are extending all facilities to ensure that the Urs is celebrated peacefully and successfully, and many devotees are expected to gather in large numbers at the shrine to pay their respects to the saint.
