Lt. Gen. Muhammad Ali appointed as new Defense Secretary Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has appointed Lt. Gen. Muhammad Ali as the new Defense Secretary, effective October 1, 2024. This appointment is for a tenure of 2 years and 3 months, with Lt. Gen. Ali set to continue as Secretary till December 31, 2026, as announced by the Establishment Division.

An official notification has been issued by the govt of Pakistan officially announcing that the Lt. Gen. Muhammad Ali appointed as the new Defense Secretary of Pakistan.

The current Defense Secretary has retired on expiry of his tenure. This development is a significant move in Pakistan’s defense landscape. As Defense Secretary, Lt. Gen. Muhammad Ali will play a crucial role in shaping the country’s defense policies and strategies.
