Pakistan celebrates Eid-ul-Fitr with religious fervor

ISLAMABAD: Eidul Fitr is being celebrated across Pakistan with great religious zeal and fervor. Eid congregations are being held in open spaces, mosques, and Eidgahs in villages, towns, and cities.

Special prayers were offered for the country’s development, prosperity, and liberation of Muslim territories, including Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir and Palestine.

In Islamabad, the main Eid congregation took place at Faisal Mosque, where government dignitaries, foreign diplomats, and citizens  gathered for Eid prayers.

In other cities of Pakistan people gathered at different mosques and holy places to offer Eid prayers. Badshahi Mosque, Alamgiri Masjid were jam packed with Namazis offering Eid Namaz.

Prime Minister and President’s Message

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Asif Zardari have sent their warmest Eidul Fitr greetings to the country, highlighting compassion and solidarity in the face of adversity.

In addition to calling on Pakistanis to maintain the qualities of piety, patience, and sacrifice developed during Ramadan, both leaders emphasized Eid as a day of joy, thankfulness, and fraternity.

President Zardari emphasized the value of compassion, solidarity, social responsibility, and charity. He asked people to pay Fitrana, Sadaqat, and Zakat generously and to keep in mind those who are struggling financially.

In addition, the president prayed for the freedom and peace of the people living in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

In order to fight hatred, sectarianism, and extremism, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stressed the importance of national unity. He acknowledged the sacrifices made by Pakistan Army officers and soldiers and reiterated the government’s commitment to social stability, peace, and economic revival.

The Prime Minister offered support to the oppressed people of Palestine and Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, as well as solidarity with the families of martyrs.

Both leaders urged Pakistan to promote compassion, unity, and brotherhood while praying for the country’s peace, development, and prosperity. Along with wishing for peace and prosperity, Prime Minister Sharif also sent Eid greetings to world leaders, including President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan.

Enhanced Security Measures

In order to avoid any mishap on the joyous moment of Eid-ul-Fitr the government has increased the security across Pakistan. Section 144 is placed in several areas, additionally pillion riding, airiel firing is banned during Eid.

Punjab IG Dr Usman Anwar reported 47,000 personnel guarding 29,000 congregations, banning aerial firing and kite-flying.

Over 3500 police personals have been deployed in federal capital to main law and order situation in the city.
