President Zardari gives assent to tax-heavy Finance Bill 2024

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has approved the Finance Bill 2024 on the advice of the Prime Minister under Article 75 of the Constitution.

The Finance Bill will be effective from July 01, 2024, President House said in a press release on Sunday.

On June 28, the National Assembly passed the tax-laden Finance bill 2024 as the federal government eyes a new International Monetary Fund (IMF) bailout package for sustaining the economy.

The Federal Budget with a total outlay of Rs18.877 trillion was approved with certain amendments, adopting the financial proposals for the fiscal year beginning on July 01, 2024.

Minister for Finance and Revenue Muhammad Aurangzeb moved the motion for consideration of the Finance Bill, 2024, which was unveiled by the federal government two weeks ago, to give effect to the financial proposals of the federal government for the year, commencing on July 1, 2024.
