Terrorist attack, 9 policemen martyred, 5 missing

ZIARAT: 9 policemen were martyred in a terrorist attack in Mangi Phase 3, while the search for five missing personnel is ongoing.

According to details, terrorists attacked a police check post in Mangi Phase 3 in Ziarat, Balochistan, as a result of which at least 9 policemen were martyred.

Deputy Commissioner Ziarat said that the exchange of fire between security personnel and terrorists continued throughout the night, the police force fought the attackers with great courage and bravery and after a long clash of several hours, the attack was repelled.

He confirmed that a search operation has been launched in the area to search for the 5 policemen missing since the attack. More details of the incident and the report of the clearance operation of the security forces are yet to come.

It may be recalled that earlier, 9 people, including 2 traffic police personnel, were martyred and 23 injured in a horrific explosion in a busy market in Sarai Naurang Tehsil of Lakki Marwat District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to police officials, a loader rickshaw loaded with explosives was blown up in the center of the market during rush hour. Rescue 1122 teams reached the spot and shifted the bodies and injured to Naurang Hospital, where a large number of local citizens participated in relief work and donated blood for the injured.
