ISLAMABAD: The government of Pakistan and the World Health Organization (WHO) will jointly establish 26 new vaccination centres in the country to facilitate the remote areas.

These vaccination centres will help over 750,000 people in underserved areas and provide them the health facilities.

Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (GAVI) will provide the life-saving vaccines and basic health services for the new centres, according to press release.

Thirteen centres are already functional in Punjab, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan, and the other thirteen will be made in Punjab and Khyber Pukhtunkhwa.

Solar power systems shall be installed in the centre to ensure smooth flow of vaccination and health care in the shortage of electricity.

Reaching the most underserved populations and bolstering Pakistan’s Expanded Programme on Immunization are the goals of the collaboration. Primary health care will be strengthened, and emergency response will be improved thanks to the effort.
