Punjab govt to launch air ambulance service on motorways; Details inside

LAHORE: The Punjab government is launching an air ambulance service on motorways in the province.

As per the details, the Provincial Health Ministers Khawaja Salman Rafique and Khawaja Imran Nazir during a meeting at the Project Management Unit (PMU) here on Saturday, termed the development as a “golden chapter” in the history of Punjab.

Khawaja Salman Rafique termed the Air Ambulance Service as a flagship program of the Punjab Government and emphasized its fundamental nature for the convenience of patients.

“For the first time in the history of Punjab, we are launching an Air Ambulance Service, ensuring immediate medical assistance to critical cases on the highways. To equip the rescue teams with the latest skills required for this service. Training sessions are ongoing for

Khawaja Imran Nazir highlighted the comprehensive planning involved.

“We have briefed DHQ hospitals across the province about the upcoming air ambulance and motorway emergency services. Ensuring supply of medicines and doctors to remote hospitals is the top priority,” he said. are committed to providing the highest quality of care.

Important officials including Secretary Health Punjab Ali Jan Khan, Secretary Emergency Services Punjab Dr. Rizwan Naseer, Special Secretary of Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department Muhammad Iqbal and Additional Secretaries Khizr Afzal and Muhammad Ayaz participated in the meeting. Secretary Health Ali Jan Khan and Dr. Rizwan Naseer gave a detailed briefing about the progress and implementation of this initiative.

The air ambulance service is expected to significantly reduce response times to emergencies on motorways, thereby increasing overall healthcare delivery in the region.
