Blasphemy Revision petition filed in SC, hearing notice issued

Islamabad: The Supreme Court has approved the review petition against accused Mubarak Ahmad Sani in the blasphemy case. The Supreme Court issued a notice for the hearing of the case on February 26. The Supreme Court did not fully explain Article 20 in its decision to drop the charges against the accused of blasphemy, Petitioner, religious freedom under Article 20 of the Constitution is not unlimited and due to lack of explanation, the general impression of the judgment was taken wrongly. Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa, responding to this position, said that when Article 20 was mentioned, explanation was not needed.

The Chief Justice said that according to Article 20, religious freedom, public order and morals are subject to notice but notice is necessary for clarification in revision, on which the Assistant Prosecutor General said that since it is the point of interpretation of the Constitution, there was no need for notice. The other member of the bench, Justice Irfan Saadat, explained that since it is a matter of review, notice is necessary.

Today, during the hearing of this case, the Chief Justice inquired about Jamiat Ulema Islam (F) senator and senior lawyer Kamran Murtaza, that they are not seen today?

It should be noted that Maulana Fazlur Rehman Mubarak Ahmed Sani, head of Jamiat Ulema Islam, has been criticizing Chief Justice  Qazi Faiz Isa regarding the decision of the case and today religious parties have also called for protest in this regard.

On the inquiry of Kamran Murtaza’s , his brother Rizwan Murtaza said that Kamran Murtaza is busy in some other cases in Bench No. 2 and 5, on which the Chief Justice said that we wanted his assistance in this case, don’t they want to assist the court, if so then it is their will, what can we say…
