ISLAMABAD: The federal government has contacted the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) on the issue of the federal budget.
According to sources, a senior government figure contacted the PPP leadership and inquired about their concerns regarding the budget.
Sources say that the PPP has put all its concerns on the budget before the government and has also informed the government figure about the alleged misrepresentation on budget matters.
According to PPP sources, the government has not fulfilled its promises made to the party regarding the budget.
During the contact, the government figure has assured to convey all the concerns of the PPP to the Prime Minister and has taken the stand that all the promises will be fulfilled by removing the concerns on the budget.
On the other hand, the PPP has decided that it will wait for the government’s official response on the budget concerns and its next strategy regarding the budget will be decided according to the government’s response.
Sources have further said that there is a possibility of a meeting between the budget teams of the government and the PPP soon in this regard.
