Faiz Hameed’s brother Najaf ‘arrested’ in corruption case

Anti-corruption Rawalpindi has confirmed the arrest of Najaf Hameed, the brother of ex-DGISI General Retired Faiz Hameed on Monday.

Former Deputy Tehsildar Najaf Hameed was arrested in the case under Sections 420, 468, and 471. The case was filed by the Anti-Corruption Department, Chakwal in 2023 for financial fraud.

Faiz Hameed’s brother was taken into custody by the anti-corruption official from the Rawalpindi court premises. He was arrested after Judge Ali Nawaz Bhakar canceled his request for interim bail in case No. 16/3.

Najaf Hameed will be produced before the special judge of the anti-corruption court tomorrow for physical remand.

The Rawalpindi Judicial Magistrate sent Najaf Hameed to Adiala Jail on Judicial Remand till April 1 after anti-corruption officials did not ask for a physical remand.

Najaf Hameed is the elder brother of former DGISI General Retired Faiz Hameed.
