The judge gave the jail superintendent instructions to make sure the December 22 orders are carried out, taking into account the prison’s capacity given that attorneys and media representatives are anticipated to attend.

As the judge mentioned, the superintendent of Adiala Jail is in charge of ascertaining how many people were present during the indictment proceedings.

The charges are scheduled to be filed on January 10, 2024, and the court order mandates that copies of all case-related documentation be given to the accused.

It is important to note that Bibi’s ex-husband Khawar Maneka, who had filed an application with the court, had asserted that the marriage was unlawful and in violation of Sharia law.

Initially, Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi were charged with getting married during the three-month “iddat period” that comes after a divorce. Maneka has also charged them with infidelity.
