Israel offers to release 700 Palestinian prisoners, in exchange for 40 hostages

Israel has agreed to release 700 Palestinian prisoners in exchange for 40 hostages. Israeli media has claimed that the most important progress has been made in the talks between Hamas and Israel in exchange for hostages between Hamas and Israel in Doha, Qatar. Israel agreed to release 700 Palestinians in exchange for 40 Israeli hostages.

According to Israeli media, a senior Israeli official said that the 700 Palestinian prisoners will include about 100 life prisoners, and a proposal to release 7 Palestinians serving life sentences in exchange for a female soldier is also under consideration.

The senior Israeli official added that Israel would not have the right to object to the names of Palestinian prisoners that Hamas would demand, if Israel were granted the right to object to the names, more Palestinian prisoners would be released for every female soldier.

The Israeli official said that the United States, through its Secretary of State Antony Blinken is putting clear pressure on Israel to make progress in the negotiations and reach an agreement within days.
