Senate meets in Islamabad today

ISLAMABAD: The Senate’s session will start at 10:30 a.m. today (Tuesday) at Parliament House in Islamabad.

The house will not only conduct legislative business but also debate matters of national and international significance.

The session will be chaired by Sadiq Sanjrani. The Motion Pictures Amendment Bill and the Deposit Protection Cooperation Amendment Bill 2023 are scheduled to be introduced in accordance with the 12-point agenda that has been made public.

Additionally, the Overseas Pakistani Parties Bill 2023, the Banking Companies Amendment Bill, and the Establishment of Special Court Bill will be introduced. The House will also be made aware of the lack of a vaccine to prevent chikungunya.

The chikungunya virus (CHIKV), an RNA virus in the alphavirus genus of the family Togaviridae, is the virus that causes the Chikungunya disease, which is spread by mosquitoes.
