Student groups in Punjab University clashed, nine injured

A clash took place between two student groups at Punjab University in Lahore late at night on Wednesday leaving night students injured.

According to the Police, as a result of the fight night students were injured and were shifted to Jinnah Hospital for medical treatment, and their condition is said to be satisfactory.

Stone pelting and sticks were used during the two-sided clash. The police said that legal action will be taken against those involved in the Punjab University clash.

On the other hand, according to the sources, the Muslim Town Police arrested 18 people involved in the PU dispute. The police registered a case against the accused under various provisions while raids were being conducted to arrest more accused.

On the other hand, university sources say that it has decided to suspend 12 students involved in the dispute, while an inquiry will also be started against the students involved in the dispute.
