Swabi police station rocked by explosion

SWABI: A tragic explosion at the city police station in Swabi has claimed the life of a child and injured 31 others, here on Thursday.

According to details, the incident took place. According to initial reports, the explosion was caused by a short circuit in a room where weapons were kept.

The District Police Officer (DPO) of Swabi confirmed the blast and said that investigations are underway to find out the exact cause of the blast.

The explosion took place inside the police station resulting in a large number of casualties.

Hospital officials have confirmed that one child was brought dead, while 26 injured have been admitted to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ).

5 more injured were shifted to Bacha Khan Medical Complex for treatment.

Emergency services responded quickly to the scene, and further updates are expected as the investigation continues.
