LAHORE: In a recent development, famous Pakistani actress Reema Khan has been accused of alleged fraud by a man identified as Shahid Rafiq.
While talking at an interview site outside the Lahore Press Club, Shahid Rafiq stated that he had spent Rs 21 million of his money in Reema Khan’s movie ”Love Mein Ghum” back in the year 2009, but has not received a single penny of profit till today.
According to Shahid Rafiq, he came back from Qatar to Lahore in 2009 with a plan to invest in property in Defence. However, he met Maira Khan, Reema Khan’s sister who was a real estate agent, said that he must invest in Reema Khan film assuring that he will get his money back within five to six months.
Shahid Rafiq claimed to have met Reema Khan and deposited the money. However, afterwards, he said, he was forced to provide further amounts.
In addition, Shahid Rafiq revealed that during the shooting of the film, he was also invited to Malaysia where he spent 20–25 days along with the other lead cast.
He claimed that Reema Khan made an agreement with him, and he has all the evidence, including bank statements, to support his claims. However, Reema Khan filed a Rs. 200 million defamation case against him, accusing him of fraud.
According to Shahid Rafiq, the civil court ruled in his favor, declaring that Reema Khan committed a fraud worth Rs. 21 million. He said that Reema Khan lost the case in the civil court as well as the sessions court and was given a stay order from the high court.
Shahid Rafiq said that the case would be presented against Reema Khan but that Reema has been getting stay orders. He said that Reema Khan has been trying to delay this case, but he is determined to get justice.
Reema Khan has not commented on all the allegations yet, and the case is still in court.
