BISE Lahore introduces QR code on certificates for online verification

LAHORE: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore is taking a giant leap forward by digitalizing academic degrees. All certificates issued by the board from now on will have a QR code that will be verified online.

This is a game-changer, as it will help eliminate the production of fake documents. It will offer an online record in a QR code format that could be used for verification purposes to easily confirm whether a degree obtained from an institution is authentic.

The Federal and Sindh governments are also collaborating with this planunder the Uraan Pakistan project, and will be digitizing roll number slips and result cards with QR codes.

This is going to bring a lot of transparency and efficiency to the education system. However, one thing to note here is that all those institutions which require degree verification through the Higher Education Commission (HEC) will still have to do that separately.
