Samsung to drop Samsung messages app from phones by July 2026

ISLAMABAD: There is great news for Samsung mobile phone users that the company has decided to remove an important feature of it.

According to foreign media, it has been decided to remove the default messaging app (Samsung Messages) from Samsung smartphones.

According to Samsung, the company’s website states that the default messaging app (Samsung Messages) on smartphones will be removed in July this year.

This decision by the company has surprised everyone because the Google Messages app is already installed on Samsung’s recently introduced phones.

In a notice published on the company’s website, Samsung confirmed that the Messages app will be removed in July 2026.

However, phones running Android 11 or earlier will not be affected by the service being disabled.

Samsung has instructed users to check the Messages app for the final date of the app’s deactivation, while urging users to make Google Messages their default texting app.
