PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi on Friday administered the oath to the new 13-member cabinet of KP Chief Minister Sohail Afridi.
The oath-taking ceremony was held at the Governor’s House in Peshawar, where 10 provincial ministers, two advisers to the chief minister, and a special assistant to the chief minister were sworn in.
According to a summary sent to the KP governor, CM Afridi picked Meena Khan Afridi, Arshad Ayub Khan, Amjad Ali, Aftab Alam Khan, Fazal Shakoor Khan, Khaleequr Rahman, Riaz Khan, Syed Fakhar Jehan, Aqibullah Khan, and Faisal Khan as provincial ministers.
He also picked Muzammil Aslam and Taj Muhammad as advisers, and Shafi Jan as a special assistant.
Subsequently, KP Governor Faisal Karim Kundi said that he had signed the summary for the new KP cabinet that was submitted by the chief minister.
Afridi, who replaced Ali Amin Gandapur earlier this month, had announced his cabinet after incarcerated party founder Imran Khan directed him to go ahead with cabinet formation.
The newly elected CM had previously insisted that he would announce the cabinet after meeting Khan. However, after repeated failed attempt to meet him, Imran’s sister told Afridi to form the provincial cabinet, citing Imran Khan’s directives.
