2 children killed, policemen among 14 injured in Pishin blast

PISHIN: At least two children were killed while two policemen were among 14 injured when an explosion occurred near Surkhab Chowk in Balochistan’s Pishin district, a police official said.

Pishin City Station House Officer (SHO) Mujibur Rehman confirmed the casualties, adding that the injured people were taken to the Pishin Civil Hospital with some of them in critical condition including policemen.

Medical superintendent of Pishin Hospital, Dr. Wakeel Sherani, said 13 wounded were moved to the Civil Hospital Quetta’s Trauma Centre after being provided with first aid while the bodies of the children and one of the injured are in the hospital.

As per initial police reports, the explosive material was planted in a motorcycle, and a blast resulted in damaging three vehicles.

Upon the information, the Counter-Terrorism Department and the Bomb Disposal Squad reached the incident site and initiated an investigation.
