30 Khawarij eliminated in three engagements in KP: ISPR

RAWALPINDI: Security forces killed 30 Khawarij in three separate encounters in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Saturday, January 24 and 25, 2025.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in Lakki Marwat district on information about the presence of Khawarij.

During the operation, their own forces effectively targeted the Khawarij location, resulting in the killing of 18 Khawarij and wounding of six.

Another intelligence-based operation was conducted in Karak district. The ISPR said that eight Khawarij were effectively neutralized by the security forces in the exchange of fire.

In a third encounter that took place in the general area of ​​Bagh district, Khyber, their forces successfully neutralized four Khawarij, including Khawarij faction leader Azizur Rehman @Qari Ismail and Khawarij Mukhlis, while two Khawarij were injured.

Arms and ammunition were also recovered from the possession of the slain Khawarij, who was involved in several terrorist acts against security forces in the area as well as killing innocent civilians.

Clearance operations are being carried out to eliminate any other Khawarij found in the area as Pakistan’s security forces are determined to eradicate the menace of terrorism from the country.

Earlier, security forces had killed eight Khawarij in two intelligence-based operations in Tank and Khyber districts of the province.

The ISPR said that security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in Tank district on information about the presence of Khawarij. It added that during the operation, security forces effectively targeted the Khawarij and killed six of them.

In another encounter that took place in Tirah Valley district of Khyber, security forces successfully neutralized two Khawarij.
