47 scientists, engineers honoured with civil awards by CJCSC

RAWALPINDI: Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Sahir Shamshad Mirza has conferred civil awards to the prominent scientists and engineers working under the National Command Authority for their glorious services.

General Sahir Shamshad Mirza gave the awards on behalf of the president of Pakistan at a ceremony held at Chaklala Garrison, Rawalpindi, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

During the occasion, 47 officers received prizes, including 10 Sitara-i-Imtiaz, 21 President’s Award for Pride of Performance, and 16 Tamgha-i-Imtiaz.

Last year, the CJCSC presented civil honors to prominent scientists and engineers from important organizations. According to ISPR, 35 persons received the prizes.

Seven officers were granted Sitara-e-Imtiaz, 15 won the President’s Award for Pride of Performance, and 13 earned Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, according to the statement.

Gen Mirza had also praised the scientists and engineers, describing them as the nation’s unsung heroes.
