5 police officers suspended for stealing Rs1000 from citizen

LAHORE: In a shocking incident, five police officers, including three head constables and two constables, were suspended after they were found guilty of stealing Rs1,000 from a man’s pocket during a routine search in Qila Gujjar Singh area.

According to the police sources, the constables identified as head constables Hassan, Shakeel, and Tahir, along with constables Tajammal and Imran allegedly took the money at a checkpoint during a routine checkup from a resident of Azad Kashmir.

Following the incident , the resident immediately called police helpline 15 to report the bizarre encounter, but the officers forced him to record a false statement that the complaint was a mistake.

However, the police personals took an immediate action and the Civil lines Superintendent launched an investigative inquiry which proved that the five constables were the actual culprits.
