Adil Raja, Moeed Pirzada & others booked for anti-state campaign

ISLAMABAD: A case was registered against five people here on Thursday for allegedly running a hate campaign against state institutions on social media.

According to details, the National Cyber ​​Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has registered a case against Adil Raja, Moeed Pirzada, Muhammad Umar, Nazir Butt and Ahmed Noorani for allegedly running a hate campaign on social media.

The accused are allegedly involved in spreading misleading propaganda targeting national institutions.

The FIR states that during the Pakistan-India tension, the suspects shared false and inflammatory content with the aim of inciting unrest.

The NCCIA further claimed that the individuals continuously promote misleading and harmful content online.

The agency added that the content spread by the accused is said to spread hatred and create fear and panic among the public. The NCCIA said that the accused tried to create chaos, unrest and distrust against the state.

The NCCIA confirmed that legal proceedings have been formally initiated as per the law.

In 2023, overseas Pakistanis Shaheen Sehbai, Adil Raja and others were registered in Islamabad for inciting people to rebel against the state and attacking defence establishments.

A case was registered at Ramana Police Station on the complaint of G-11 resident Muhammad Aslam.

Overseas Pakistanis Shaheen Sehbai, Haider Raza Mehdi, Wajahat Saeed Khan and Adil Farooq Raja have been named in the case on charges of terrorism and sedition.

The FIR said that overseas Pakistanis Shaheen Sehbai, Haider Raza Mehdi and others incited people against defence establishments and tried to spread chaos in Pakistan.
