ISLAMABAD: Awami National Party (ANP) President Aimal Wali Khan has said that the Prime Minister, referring to the picture of US President Donald Trump and the Field Marshal, said that the gift of stones was bought by the Field Marshal from his own pocket and it has nothing to do with any mineral deal, domestic or foreign.

In his statement, Aimal Wali Khan said that Federal Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar mentioned my meeting with the Prime Minister before my speech in the past few days, which was a briefing on his visit to the US, so I want to give the necessary clarification in this regard.

He said that he will respond to the remaining allegations in detail on Thursday.

Aimal Wali Khan added that after his speech in the Senate, the Prime Minister invited me to give a briefing on his visit to the US. At the beginning of the meeting, he apologized to me and said that all this should have happened before the visit to the Parliament.

He said that I accepted the Prime Minister’s apology right away and said that they should look at my speech. I have spoken about the supremacy of the House, I have not ridiculed anyone. I have been trained in a home where we are taught the etiquette and distinction of talking to adults and children.

The ANP president said that the Prime Minister explained in his briefing that on some visits he needs to take the Field Marshal with him, due to some strategic constraints, he takes him with him himself.

He said that the Prime Minister, referring to the picture of Trump and the Field Marshal, said that the gift of stones given to President Trump was bought by the Field Marshal from his own pocket and it has nothing to do with any mineral deal, domestic or foreign.

Aimal Wali Khan said that in response to this, I said that I have the courage that if I can criticize openly, I can also apologize for making a mistake. If this picture has nothing to do with the minerals of Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan or any deal, then I apologize.

He said that the right to the minerals of Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan belongs to the people there, the local people should be included in it, we are neither against development nor the improvement of the economy, our briefing ended with these points that I did not disrespect anyone’s identity in my speech, nor did I ridicule anyone, but if anyone was hurt by my words, I apologize because I have appreciated and will continue to appreciate the role of the Field Marshal in the defense of the country.

He said that however, where the constitutional jurisdiction is exceeded, I will continue to raise my voice as a representative of the oppressed nationalities.
