ISLAMABAD (Rizwan Abbasi): The Azad Jammu and Kashmir Election Commission has issued strict instructions to all registered political parties in the state to submit their financial details at the end of the fiscal year 2024-25.
According to the Election Commission press release, the parties in AJK will be required to submit financial details within 60 days after the end of FY through Form 40 and Form 41.
It further said that only those financial reports will be accepted that are audited by a chartered accountant and certified by an authorized audit officer.
“Political parties have been clearly instructed that any overwriting (torn writing) in the form will not be acceptable, and it will also be mandatory to attach a copy of the bank statement,” the press release stated.
The Election Commission has warned that the financial details will only be submitted in person to the Election Commission office, adding that details sent through post, fax, or courier will not be accepted.
According to sources, this move by the Election Commission aims to promote financial transparency and accountability among political parties. In case of violation, legal action can be taken against the parties concerned.
“Forms 40 and 41 are available free of cost from the offices of the Election Commission, which have been made mandatory for all parties to fill and submit on time,” it added.
