TURBAT: PPP co-chairman and former president Asif Ali Zardari has affirmed his commitment to the development of Balochistan, addressing a public gathering in Turbat. Acknowledging past mistakes, Zardari emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts for peaceful nation-building.
Describing Balochistan as the heart of the country, Zardari unveiled plans to bring water from Tajikistan to the province, stimulate economic growth in Gwadar, and enhance collaboration with China. Promising to rectify past grievances, Zardari assured the return of estranged Baloch youth and announced plans to establish universities in every division of the province, with a focus on job creation.

Advocating for the prioritization of Balochistan, Zardari stressed the crucial role of Baloch youth in shaping the nation’s future. Reflecting on his diplomatic endeavors, he mentioned making 15 visits to China during his term in office. Additionally, Zardari highlighted the longstanding service to Afghans over 40 years but expressed regret that they could not become brethren.
The former president’s address in Turbat signifies a renewed commitment to the prosperity and reconciliation of Balochistan, laying out a comprehensive vision for the province’s development and the empowerment of its people.
Asif Ali Zardari is politician who is the president of Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians and was the co-chairperson of Pakistan People’s Party. He served as the 11th president of Pakistan from 2008 to 2013, the first president born after Independence. He is the widower of twice-elected Prime Minister of Pakistan Benazir Bhutto. He has been a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan since August 2018.
