ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Syed Ali Qasim Gilani said that a reference to any press conference or tweet of the PPP before September 25 should be shown because Bilawal Bhutto had praised Maryam Nawaz’s hard work in Kasur.

He said that we have reached a point where no return is possible. A minister of the Punjab government has crossed the red lines, and attacks on Aseefa Bhutto Zardari cannot be tolerated under any circumstances.

Qasim Gilani added that flood victims in Jalalpur Peerwala are still facing difficulties, and families affected by the rain are waiting for rations and assistance. According to him, the Punjab government is trying to divert attention.

So that differences can be created between the PML-N and the PPP. He said that we belong to South Punjab and we do not want to be part of any political fight. Qasim Gilani said that the Punjab government should have spoken in a soft tone.

It is not right to exaggerate the disputes. Transparency in the provision of immediate assistance and accurate identification of losses is essential. The basic demands of the victims should not be ignored.

He said that Multan, DG Khan, and Bahawalpur are also part of Punjab, and it is the duty of the PPP to identify the shortcomings in the relief mechanism.

Highlighting public issues is not a protest but a responsibility. According to him, the alliance with the PML-N is based on mutual agreement, and rehabilitation of the victims should be our priority instead of politics. He was talking to ABN News’ program Analay in Islamabad. He said that

On this occasion, Punjab government spokesperson Uzma Kardar said that Maryam Nawaz was sorry that the province was criticized in difficult times, while the fact is that the Punjab government shifted two million people to safe places and completed the relief operation by working day and night.

She said that criticizing the government through continuous press conferences is regrettable. Maryam Nawaz clarified that Punjab has never blamed anyone but extended a hand of cooperation. According to Uzma Kardar, thirty departments of the province remained active in flood relief, and Punjab also offered all possible help to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Maryam Nawaz also said that we need to know not just the data but the actual situation of the victims, so that the rehabilitation process can be made effective.
