ISLAMABAD: The Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) has recently increased the quarterly payment to Rs 13,500 under the Benazir Kafalat initiative.
In a statement on Wednesday, BISP Chairperson Senator Rubina Khalid said that the quarterly payment has been increased from Rs 10,000 to Rs 13,500.
She said that the year 2025 has been designated for the ‘Benazir Hunarmand Program’, which aims to help deserving individuals find employment after training through various opportunities.
BISP is one of the most important social safety net initiatives in Pakistan, launched in July 2008 with the aim of alleviating poverty and providing financial assistance to the most vulnerable groups in the society.
The program primarily focuses on women as its primary beneficiaries, thereby increasing their financial independence so that they can support their families through unconditional cash transfers and various social protection strategies.
Previously, beneficiaries could only withdraw their assistance from Habib Bank Limited (HBL), often facing long waits. To address this issue, the government expanded the list of participating banks, making it easier for families to access their payments. Families can now withdraw their quarterly payments from the following banks:
