Ceasefire nearing end as Iran–US Talks hang in balance

ISLAMABAD:- Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar has said that the ceasefire between Iran and the United States is ending at 4:50 am on April 22, Pakistan time.

In his post on the social networking platform X, Attaullah Tarar said that confirmation is awaited from Iran to participate in the Islamabad peace talks, and no official response has been received from Iran to participate in the peace talks yet.

The Information Minister added that Pakistan is in constant contact with Iranian authorities as a mediator, Pakistan is moving forward with the process of diplomacy and dialogue.

He added that Iran’s decision to participate in the talks before the end of the two-week ceasefire is very important.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump has said that he does not want any further extension of the ceasefire, and the Iran issue will end with a big deal.

President Donald Trump, in an interview with a US channel, said that we are handling matters with Iran very successfully, we are in a strong position in the negotiations.

Trump said that the blockade of Iran has been successful, we do not have any more time on this issue, the United States is fully prepared to take military action if necessary.

He said that he will not make any hasty decisions on the Iran issue. He does not want any further extension of the ceasefire, the Iran issue will end with a big deal.
