LAHORE: People in Pakistan are calling on the government to act to curb prices as the cost of chicken has increased to all-time highs.

According to several reports, the federal food ministry has prepared a summary in this regard. After the approval of the summary by the federal cabinet, the chicken rate will fall by Rs200 per kg.

Sources stated that the Punjab Livestock Department prepared a summary for the ban on the export of chicks to reduce the prices of broiler chicken and sent it to the Punjab government.

Sources suggested that this ban can reduce the price of chicken by Rs 200 per kg. Despite the shortage at the local level, the rates increased due to exports. It is important to mention that chicken has become expensive in different cities of the country.

Affordability was a major contributor to its increased sales, but purchasers are now unable to obtain the chicken meat. In the midst of all of this, the government has chosen to outlaw chicken exports, which will lower Pakistan’s chicken prices.

Chicken Rate in Lahore today

According to the official list, the price of chicken meat stands at Rs626 per kilogram in Lahore and adjacent areas.

Expected New Chicken Rate

If the summary is approved, the chicken rate will drop below Rs500 per kg in Lahore and other cities of the country.
