LAHORE (Zubair Kasuri): A Chinese national Ma Zahfing — wanted for defrauding millions of rupees in China — was arrested at the Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore on Wednesday, sources told Daily Ausaf.
Zahfing, who had been residing in Pakistan for an extended period, was apprehended while attempting to flee the country.
Sources within law enforcement confirmed that the Chinese government had requested assistance from Pakistani authorities three months before Zahfing’s arrest.
The Interior Ministry acted swiftly to cancel Zahfing’s visa and issued an alert to law enforcement agencies to arrest the wanted fraudulent.
Following the request from Chinese authorities, Zahfing was subsequently placed on a stop list, which led to his detention at the airport. Interior Minister sources further said that he is currently being processed for extradition to China to face charges.
